Age-Defying Antioxidants

Why are antioxidants so important?

Antioxidants neutralize free radicals caused by our internal metabolism or created by external environmental stressors like UV radiation in sunlight. Sunscreens absorb or scatter UV light, but they do not neutralize free radicals.

Free radicals are toxic because they oxidize critical compounds within the skin. Free radicals degrade elastin and collagen, and accelerate cellular damage known to cause wrinkles, uneven skin tone, rough texture and other unwelcome signs of skin aging.

How to fight free radicals? By preventing oxidation. Consider an apple slice. Left exposed to air (oxygen), it turns brown: a response to oxidative stress. Coating the apple with lemon juice (a fruit high in the antioxidant vitamin C), prevents browning. Oxidation will not occur.

The REVALÉSKIN® System provides clinically proven around-the-clock antioxidant protection3. Daily use helps prevent further signs of early skin aging and defends skin vulnerable to toxic free radical damage.3-4

What's one of nature's most potent natural antioxidants?

In order to measure the antioxidant effectiveness of foods and supplements, the ORAC test was developed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. The higher an ORAC value, or score, the more effective that substance will be in neutralizing free radicals.

The ORAC score of CoffeeBerry® Whole Fruit Extract is higher than any other known, naturally occurring antioxidant tested to date.5-8
